I am back from Vietnam!

Took yesterday off to recover from jet-lag ( damn daylight savings) and will compose a long and winded ramble of a journal describing my trip over the coming week, as well as upload happy snaps.

Will be slowly making way through inbox; apologies for anyone waiting for a reply on anything. I have 190 dev, 22 messages, and 1 note, so it is not as bad as it could be...
Also will be finishing up trades and prizes as the opportunities progress. I haven't forgotten about you, just slowly trying to heave self out of workload.

The results from the judging of the "Something in the Air" Contest are in, and here are the Winners! Starting from 2nd place, going down to 4th, before revealing number one! (Because I want to keep you in suspense).

Boy, was it hard to judge these. I am indebt to =Shadowm00n, who was my co-judge, and listened to my whining about peoples obvious illiteracy when it came to rules, whinging at stress levels, and random outbursts of "I LOVE YOU". Wull, I could not have done without him. While we did no agree on everything when it came to the judging, the marks were close and the finals down to the line. There were at least 8 people who were within 2.5 marks of the first place getter.

And finally, I'd like to thank the kind people who donated prizes. Thank you:

On the note of prizes: Winners, it is up to you to organise your prizes. My suggestion is: note everyone who you are getting a prize from, tell them what you are getting in relation to the donation, what you'd like, and a little thank you note. Do a mass note, if you must, or copy and paste the basics. The donators are the ones giving you something, so the least you could do is lift some weight off their shoulders and organise the prizes.

"Mascarading as a star,
gentle lights in a stream."

This little literary piece is flowing and charismatic, with emotion and creativity to boot. The chosen thing in the air was an aeroplane, which held a precious cargo. This poem has rhyme, without seeming too forced, (while it does have a spelling mistake in the first word ), the bittersweet separation (where while the plane takes him away, it is wished that he is carried safely), and a great writing style. In all, this is a very enjoyable piece.

Enjoy the Silence is a short poem, but conveys a strong sense of power through control of language and style. It looks at the juxtaposition of words and silence in the air; the cause and effect, almost. The idea is well-developed and consistent, using language and structure links. A well deserving third place winner.
