CONTEST ENDS THIS SUNDAY!!
Rules, About and Mishaps:
Choose 'something' that has a deep, personal and/or an emotional connection to you. The catch? This 'something' has to be ‘in the air’. Mist, smoke, leaves, smell, birds, an electrical charge etc. It’s up to you. You must explain in the Artists Comments why you chose to portray that particular something ‘in the air’.. . . . For Example: I might choose to portray smoke in the air, and make it a drawing. In the artist’s comments, I would say: “This represents anxiety. As a small child growing up in a country in drought, I would often work hard to clear the grounds of my place and the council reserve of sticks and leaves before summer came. In summer, I remember the acrid taste of ash and the ominous billows of smoke in the distance, and was always ready to evacuate. “
Got it? I hope I’m not making it more complicated...
You may choose any medium. Anything. Digital, traditional, photography or literature. You may just choose to portray the background. As in: just the landscape, and no animals/reptiles/amphibians etc. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you can’t have a character or model, though. It’s up to you. You can donate a prize, as well as enter. Hear that, all ye wonderful talented peoples that have donated a prize? ENTERENTERENTER NAO You may enter more than once I would prefer it if you enter with something you have submitted after 20/6/09, submitted with this contest in mind-- but no images submitted more than 1 month ago. Steer away from clichés. So, if you put magical sparkles in and claim that they make you happy, you won’t be marked well; since when are sparkles in the air? If you put in glitter dust, and relate that to when you do crafts with your sister the air is an explosion of glitter, then that’s alright. I am mainly looking for creativity, emotion and relevance to the theme in your submission. Upload your Entry to Deviantart, and leave a link to this contest in the Artist's Comments.
